Some in the church want to totally seperate young adults within the church. Should there be a YA bible study? a YA worship service? Others think it's not wise because eventually the yound adults will feel comfortable calling themselves simply 'adults' within the community. And therefore, YA need to work with current adults in the faith community.
What do you think? Should YA seperate themselves? Is this what we want? Or can we do both? Some small groups for YA but still do activities with and for the larger faith community? What's happening in your community?

I think YAs should be able to Gather as YAs, but this should never become the primary way that they are engaging in the local congregation. Going too far down this road can lead to additional fragmentation. Any age-specific ministry should be balanced by opportunities for intergenerational engagement.
I think if we are going to live faithfully we have to hold in tension our uniqueness and our oneness in the body of Christ. We need to have YA stuff so we can share with people going through similar changes, stations in life, etc. Yet, we must also be intentional in embodying that in Christ there is no "greek or gentile, " but instead their is genuine unity amidst our diversity.
