The 5 Pillar Team/Club is the affiliate program for Sitesell.
Since the beginning, Ken Evoy, President of Sitesell, managed the affiliate program. Recently, Lisa was made the full-time affiliate manager and I'm seeing some new energy and new ideas for affiliates.
I make no secret of the fact that I love Site Build It and I promote it as often as I can. I've made some nice friends with people who purchased SBI on my recommendation and I enjoy watching how they develop and market their SBI sites.
I think it is rare when an affiliate program can help one make new friends and nice commissions, too.
What's your experience with the 5 Pillar affiliate program?

Hi Bill,
I know how you feel.
I don't get too many sales, but they're coming more often as I learn more about preselling SBI.
It's a different animal than what most people consider when building a site, so it takes some time before they understand the power of SBI and how it saves them from a lot of wasted effort when building a niche-oriented site.
First, everyone wants cheap and easy, so the $300 price tag for a year doesn't compare favorably to the $5 per month Linux hosting they can find anywhere. I can relate to that because I have a lot of domains hosted on a variety of Linux hosting services.
What they don't understand is how the step-by-step process built into SBI (and which continues to evolve and improve) will help them find a niche, brainstorm keywords, plan the site, and build a structured, niche-oriented site that attracts visitors and earns a profit.
I've barely gotten started with AYearFromNow.com because I've been so busy with other things. Yet, my SBI site earns as much as most of my other sites combined. I was faced with the decision to renew it in October and didn't hesitate.
Yes, I had to pay $300 for the next year, but I earned it all back before a month went by, so the next 11 months are free.
The people who understand business realize that $300 is a drop in the bucket compared to other expenses of building a business, but most people aren't earning anything and recoil at the thought of paying that much up-front. Yet, it works as a filter to separate the serious people who really want to build an online business, so when you make a sale, you can pretty much depend upon an annual renewal, time and time again, which is real residual income.
I don't know the magic words to tell people how much I have learned from Ken and all the other SBI subscribers on the members-only forum. If I could, everyone who wanted to build a site would seriously consider SBI.
Most of us who love what we can do with SBI probably try too hard. I find that my sales success improves when I try to restrain myself and let people learn for themselves when they go to the SBI site.
Hang in there and keep trying. You will be doing someone a real favor when you introduce them to SBI.
It won't do everything, and that's why I have other Linux-hosted sites. However, I've learned that I'm constantly troubleshooting most of those sites and my SBI-hosted site just sits there and works day in and day out without much of my attention.
After testing this for a couple of years, I'm planning on closing most of my other sites over the coming months so I can concentrate on building AYearFromNow.com and a couple of other sites I have in mind.
There are hundreds of thousands of potential Site Build It Webmasters out there who will be happy when they try SBI and see what they can accomplish in as little as a year from now.
Act on your dream!

Hi John,
Great point! When Ken offers the Buy 1 Get 1 Free deal each year, I promote the heck out of that and get my team involved with expanding their online efforts. I love being able to get some $$ for the effort.
I also really like all the code options for links. It’s amazing that I can target certain groups and all the html code and portals are set up and ready to go. I have had to spend so much time with other affiliate programs to come up with the links on my own. I have so much fun brainstorming what niche market I’m going to focus on next!!!!

Good morning, Kari,
I agree with everything you said about the holiday sale and all the tools that make it easier for us to promote the 5 pillar program and SBI.
I hope you’re continuing to do well with it.
I’m hoping to get to know you better now that I’ll be spending more time online.
Act on your dream!
