Dude, I just read that too about a minute ago. I hope it's true. That would rock.

Cool now if only they go with the script I reviewed on TG3H. The Miles and Gough one.

It is true. Robert Downey Jr. is Tony Stark. I am about as excited as I can be. I saw what he can do and he is extremely enthusiastic about playing Stark. I can say with absolute certainty that there is no better choice. The humor and emotional dimension he brings truly raises the bar on this project. Get ready.

I guess the next question is this...
Will he have the goatee?

Wow... not sure how to take that. I guess the next big surprise will be what the armor looks like and who gets casted for the villain (still Mandarin?).
Are there runners up in case RDJ OD's or ends up getting locked up or something like that?
If not then can I suggest Dylan McDermott?

Speaking of the bar... Can anyone here (or Mr. Favreau himself) fill me in on the status of the alcoholism angle? I think I remember reading an interview that said it wouldn't be a focus in the first film, but with the casting of Downey Jr, one can't help but consider the admirable and confronting irony of the story.
Very exciting news!

Wow, thats a bit unexpected but Robert is one hell of an actor and I can't wait to see his take on the character. I wonder if there will be any future casting announcements for the Mandarin or Jim Rhodes.

Excellent casting, I am a Robert Downey Jr fan, and a Jon Favreau fan, so how can this movie go wrong?
