We've all had this conversation before. I honestly think Sean Connery gets too much credit just for being the "first Bond", just because he was the first one doesn't mean he was any good--I think his later films after From Russia With Love were too camp. But, jut for laughs.

Timothy Dalton--Saved the Bond franchise from the camp and restored some credibility to it by giving us Ian Fleming's Bond again.
Daniel Craig-Like Timothy Dalton, when Dalton left the camp came back again. And he was like Ian Fleming's Bond with a darker edge.
Sean Connery-I like the first three movies, but they kind of got camp after that.
George Lazenby-Good.
Roger Moore-Although I admit Roger Moore's Bond was way too silly, he had an original take with the character.
Pierce Brosnan-Not original, and bad. Pierce Brosnan was, basically Roger Moore part II.

i dont understand y none of u guys like peirce brosnan. he was a perfect bond but just played in bad movies. Yes, connery was good but he had the best scripts ever. Movies like thunderball and goldfinger prolly were the best plots of the whole franchise. Brosnan just got stuck with crappy plots like tomorrow never dies and die another day. Craig is a good actor but all of you hav to admit, brosnan had the look. Brosnan was tall, dark hair, witty, and had the perfect accent(people always make fun of me for pointing that out, but its tru)

because if pierce felt the scripts were bad he could have walked away. Connery walked, dalton walked, lanzby walked. If you dont like the direction you can quit. Connery is number one because no one else Craig included had charisma to launch the role. Moore would have killed the series after moonraker, Dalton was to serious at times, Borsnan just came up as a lame mix of connery and moore, and Craig is only signed for three films.

If Brosnan had felt his scripts were bad, then he could've just left. Pierce Brosnan only has himself to blame for his performance, not his script. Pierce Brosnan didn't have "the" look, not for anything; Go and read some of the novels and you'll see what I'm talking about.

killer instinct intensity testicular fortitude. not to mention the fact that he was increasingly more and more like roger moore who was so far away from the book the watching him makes me puke.

I agree with u about rodger moore, but peorce brosnan always had a killer instinct, you saw the dark side of him wen he killed electra in the world is not enough and he tapped more girls than all the other bond.

Sure you have.

The man in the picture above is Ian Fleming's James Bond, not Brosnan in the slightest.

one kill does not make up for die another day. he did not have it in goldeneye when he let 006 get the better of him repeatedly. he did not have it in tomorrow never dies when he was busy making quips ala moore about never believing what he reads. He did not have it in TWINE at all i thought i was watching james bond jr. . finally he had one good movie out of four. he was becoming roger moore. And i liked him and if he were still bond i would defend him, but their comes a time no matter how much success a person has on paper you have to cut out the sickness.

Again however it is really a race for number two because no one has had the total package to launch the series since Connery. The only knock against him is that he phoned in the diamonds Are Forever, kind of like Brosnan did in the cheap rip of Die Another Day. But regardless Connery stands as the marker which all Bonds must be judged. Lanzby was good i would have loved to see him more but he was one and done. Moore was a joke. Thats all i will say. Dalton while close ot the book had no charisma whatsoever. Brosnan started out as a mix of connery and moore in goldeneye . By his 2nd and 3rd he was more like moore and by the fourth he too was a joke. Craig has only done one, but so far he has combined charisma with killer instinct that is shown in the books. he does not match connery on charisma or dalton of seriousness, but he is a very nice blend

K, in goldeneye, you cant blame bond for not killing one of his best friends 006. That just shows hes human. In tomarrow never dies, he kills a couple guys visiously. 1 by throwing them into a newpaper machin that rips him into pieces and another by throwing him into a couple of saws. In TWINE he kills a woman which shows he puts buisiness before pleasure. And in die another day u have to admit that brosnan was pretty cool in killing all those north koreans.
