Currently, I'm reworking my fantasy world, called Kolrath. It started off as a standard fantasy world (dwarves, elves, etc.), but I have decided to make it more unqiue. To that end, I've completely redone the world map, recreating the races from scratch, and redesigning the cultures. Huge task? You betcha. But Kolrath is the setting for the fantasy trilogy I'm working on, and I intend to publish Kolrath as a campaign setting when it's all done.

So. What are you working on?

I am working on two settings currently. The first is called Spooky Company and it is about the battle between the US and Nazi Germany during WW2 where the US is trying to prevent Hitler from gaining supernatural help to rule the world. Think Hellboy and some Indiana Jones thrown into it. The PbS (Powered by Spycraft) license will be the actual mechanics for it although I am debating on dual stating it to include D20 or even tri stat it for OGL Horror. I have opened up the idea that this (US version of secret organization battling the supernatural) during the American Revolution and there is a group running right now in the modern era in Iraq and other parts of the world.
I also am working on a novel or novella based in that campaign setting.

The other setting is called Steamopolis and that is a fantasy steampunk setting that will primarily be novels that will be submitted to several companies for their consideration.

That's neat about the steampunk setting you're doing. I'm going to be publishing a steampunk book for the Kandris Seal setting (I hired a freelancer to write it). It's going to be published around Christmas, if everything goes to schedule.

For Spooky Company, are you going for a Pulp feel? I'm not that familiar with Hellboy (having only seen the movie), but Indy is definitely Pulp.

Yes I am. However since I have a minor in History I will try to be as true as possible to that aspect.

Hey Lisa,

Glad to have you back on the podcast. I have been so busy with buying a new house that I have been away from the creative aspects of world building for a few months. I am about to get back into it once again.
I am building a world around native american culture. sort of a mixture of native myths and new age tech. Is a strange mixture I know but I heard a fantastic audio book called Amerindian 2192. It was a great story and I have wanted to do a sort of fantasy world based on native cultures.
so far the hardest part is creating the cultures so that they reflect native beliefs but are not stereotypical of any one tribe. I have always felt that this is a fantasy realm that has many possibilities.
keep up on the podcast and no worries about taking time to do the shows.

Thanks, Conook. :)

I think you've got a really good premise there, and you'll probably benefit from the next podcast, which is going to be about creating cultures.
