I've spent a lot of time reading on that site, and I haven't even neared covering all the texts within- there is a lot of very well thought-out essay to be read. I'll start by quoting part of the introductory texts on the Sun, and our quest to understand what it actually is, why or how it exists, and the role that it plays in our existence as organismal life:

"If we were to have the opportunity to converse with a being of far greater complexity or age than we are, we would probably expereince something a lot like shock. The power of the truth of the metaphors they would present us with would be so amazingly more accurate than the primitive and often too-mechanical stumblings of our young species that these ‘simple ideas’ — probably ideas we might ourselves have realized given a few hundred thousand years — would radically alter not only what we know about the Sun, but how we know anything. In other words, being able to recieve new metaphors from somewhere ‘above’ or outside one’s own common scale of contact — is a shocking experience — and one that functionally changes what it means to be ‘what you think your species is’ — completely. So completely that it would change the function-activity of the brain in the recipient."

The general purpose of the site, from my understanding, is to help open our awareness to the truth of a more-general metaphor for life itself. As societally-shaped beings, we instinctively begin our explanation of life on a singular human plane- when in actuality, our account of individual organismal experience should ultimately be the smallest 'branch on the tree' of explanation, of sorts. We as a functioning society-planet have lost the ability to interact with the terra on which we exist, and instead have declared ourselves owner and operator of this celestial being.

Somehow, we must learn to relay the truth of "every-when" to the squinted eyes of those around us. That, I believe, is the purpose that most of us participating in this group seek. But first, before we can spread truth, we must know and understand truth ourselves.

It also helps to print some of these writings out and take them away from the computer .... I have read many of them in the bathroom and it is a different experience .... well , that's probably more information than you needed! This reminds me of another group where someone asks what is the most rewarding experience and someone replies 'Pooping at home' - cracked me up .... in it's simplicity and honest truth , it was one of the best answers. Uh oh! Are we off topic?

--------

'Unlike our expectations, ‘the best forms’ of connectivity arise in activities far more alike with children’s games than our sciences or philosophies or even our religions could ever allow us to notice.

Yet each of those ‘knowledge-ways’ I mentioned arose from children’s games...

I mean, what — was our species ‘born adult’?'

From the site :

'The Sun is not an exploding ball of gas. It’s something we lost a generally accurate concept of thousands of years ago. The concept we lost was not academic or scientific — it was relational. A slightly better metaphor of the Sun might be something like ‘living source of that from which knowers and knowledge are spawned.’

Even small corrections to the general accuracy of this concept have a similar and unexpected effect — they utterly redefine how human minds work, especially in co-emergence. Small corrections in the meaning-shape of certain root metaphors immediately results in impossible leaps in understanding, learning ability, and clarity of ‘vision’. And herein lies an open road...to utterly amazing powers of learning, mutual uplift and rescue.

The Sun is not what we think. It is not a God, but this is far closer to that concept than our abstract or academic concepts of it. It might well be an organ in something like God...'
