If someone who has no idea of who you are were to get a glimpse of you music collection, what do you think they would think of you?
Is your music mostly one vinyl, CDs, 8-tracks, cassettes, i-pod?
Which genres do you have the most of? Funk, Heavy Metal, Rap, Punk, Yacht Rock?
Would they be able to tell if you are white, black, asian, hispanic, arab, etc?
Would they be able to guess your religion? Or you poltical leanings?
Would they be able to guess your age and/or sex?
Would the be able to tell your income?

They'd think I have way too much money to waste. We had to add a room onto our house just to store my music collection. It's like I now have my own little record store right off the master bedroom.

They'd also notice that I'm not a big burn or mp3 kinda guy, though I have nothing against those technologies or their free exchange. I have a commodity fetish for album artwork and linernotes. I like the object, and that would pretty obvious.

Well yeah, this gets into a whole new can of worms. Personally I'm one of those who prefer to hear analog to digital for the most part. Also I find that digital makes it too easy to just listen to music on the fly. I mean listening ot it like that is sort of equivilent to getting your news from the drive-by media. When you are listening to music while multi-tasking (surfing the net or watching tv, playing video game, etc) you are just experiencing the music on the surface. When I was yound I used to sit on my bean bag in the middle of my room, with the lights down low, my headphones on and just listen to the music. It seemed there were so many nuances you pick up on when you listen with yoru full concentration that you just dont get when you are listening to the music on the fly.
