If you really want to be part of solving the UFO mystery, you can be an active participant in the most exciting UFO research project since the U.S. Government's Condon Committee shut down Project Blue Book in 1969. That same year Walt Andrus and John Schuessler formed the Midwest UFO Network, a civilian research organization, to do what the U.S. Air Force decided to wash their hands of, namely actively investigating and researching UFOs. Fast forward 37 years later, and the organization now known as the Mutual UFO Networt or MUFON www.mufon.com is still actively performing its mission of the "Scientific Study of UFOs for the benefit of humanity." MUFON has amassed over 10,000 investigated cases and is now forming research teams to do an in-depth analysis of that data. This has never been possible before because our files have always been paper based and difficult to cross-compare for data, but now the files have been scanned, optical character read and saved in Adobe PDF format for easy access, searching and data mining.
I am the founder of MUFON's Pandora Project that converted the files to their electronic forms. We are not stopping here though, as we are continung to investigate new cases and add them to our database. We have a network of 800 certified field investigators that are assigned cases to investigate automatically by our online reporting system.
You can help by joining our organization and becoming a certified field investigator, or if you are in the scientific community, joining our research teams. To become a field investigator, you must pass a rigorous examination - we even have our own field investigator's manual that shows you how to conduct an investigation.
Please feel free to email me if you have questions or are interested in joining. MUFON also hosts an annual Symposium and this year the Symposium will be in Denver, Colorado from July 14 - 16. Check out the details at www.mufon.com
