Here are some dates of exact transits in June to give people a bit of an idea of how to use the ephemeris:

I'm usually looking at it with a reference point, such as the chart of a person or a nation or something, so I'm usually not looking to see how close the major configuration comes to being exact so much as I am looking to see in what order it hits the chart I'm looking at.

to add to chris' post, the large, slow patterns can be triggered by quicker transits like new and full moons, or aspects with mercury and other personal planets.
i look at those in people's natal charts and also if im looking at the general astrological conditions.
or if im looking at sun sign stuff. (ducks and covers head)

The Full Moon in Sagittarius approaches Pluto's maw. Mars closes in on Saturn to ensure there's no escape while Neptune trine sprinkles holy water on the condemned consciousness.

That Mars-Saturn conjunction at 8 Leo will also include Vesta, and at the same time the Lunar Nodal axis will be at 00 Aries/Libra.

IMO, this is not the greatest time for relationships. I wouldn't be surprised if we all heard of some sad break-up stories or something of the likes.

I'm feelin' the calm before the storm---like a big explosion, or earthquake. Don't like all the big boys forming annoying alignments all at once -- I think a major disaster is looming --- in the earlier morning hours very near to 18th or soon after. Gonna be holding my breath till its over.

OMG I hope you are wrong because I have been coping with the 'relationships' of three friends, and if anything goes wrong I am going to have to be all of their 'rock'. I love my friends, but coping with someone else's love troubles when you are pathetically single is VERY draining. AT least for me.
