Anybody looking forward to a new horror/comedy being released either theatrically or on home video the rest of us might be interested in? It could be something you've seen at a film festival or horror con that's been picked up for distribution. Or heck, maybe you just read a fanzine interview with a filmmaker who's talking about something they'd like to make. Let us know so we can track it here... As for ourselves, the thing we're most excited about at the moment is MONSTER HOUSE which is due out sometime in July. This looks like fun for the kid in all of us.

I wanna see both of those. lol I don't know of any right now. My boyfriend (if he ever has time for it) has one he wants to make. I took an oath of silence on it, but it's a good idea and would be funny, when he decides to make it.

Full Moon PimpWrote:

I love the fact principal photography began May 1st and there's already a summer release date... nothin' like low budget filmmaking.

Honestly, I really want to see Slithers. I know everyone's heard of it but it looks really good.

We're definitely tracking this one. I kick myself for missing it in the theatre.

THE DEATH OF MR. LAZARESCU (2005) is a little different from the horror/comedies we've been tossing around up to this point as it's a more realistic, darkly comic look at the medical profession in the same vein of THE HOSPITAL (1971). It's playing in Los Angeles now to rave reviews but probably won't go much bigger before it disappears from theaters. Hopefully it will reappear on video somewhere down the road. You can read more about the film and view the trailer HERE.

The latest from Billy Crystal. What a horror show that guy is. Not really comedy though. I missed Slither and I was jonsing that that one too. It was in the theater for three seconds out here.
Seriously, the new Bruce Campbell - zombie movie where he basically plays himself. I think its called 'They Call Me Bruce' or "My Name is Bruce."

THE OTHER SIDE (2006) is scheduled to play the Waterfront Film Festival in Michigan June 10th and 11th. They have it listed as a supernatural thriller/comedy. If it is perhaps we should track this one for upcoming release. Anyone know it? You can visit site and view images and the trailer HERE.

We're definitely going to be tracking this one... THE SASQUATCH DUMPLING GANG (2006) had its world premiere at SLAMDANCE and won something. Can't find out much more about it except that it's from the Director of Napolean Dynamite and it's about a group of kids who find evidence of Bigfoot. One site calls it THE MONSTER SQUAD (1987) for a new generation. You can view a brief clip at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DLp32pxNHJc

Horror/Comedy will be making a big-budget return this holiday season with Ben Stiller's new film, NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM. This feels like it's going to be GHOSTBUSTERS big. What do you think?
