Hello,
Welcome to The Eco-Living Institute. My name is Tamara Scott-Bogard. The Eco-Living Institute is an Eco-Living Consultation Agency here in Rockford, Illinois. We work with individuals who would like to learn how they can lessen their personal impact on the Earth and how this can affect their health: The environment as an extension of yourself. The Institute also has a membership, which is free of charge. Those interested in sharing information, knowledge and participating in projects and experiments are welcome. One of our long-term plans as an institute is to construct a demonstration home in which we will gather data and statistics on the systems and ideas that we will be discussing here.
As a member of The Eco-Living Institute, you have the opportunity to practice stewardship. So feel free to introduce yourself. Ask questions. Bring your ideas.
Sincerely,
Tamara Scott-Bogard

Feel free to introduce yourself to the group. Individuals are just that, an amazing combination of ideas, backgrounds, expertise and inspiration. Let's share it.

Hello Everyone My name is Mike Underwood. I am in Mississippi. I have spent alot of time researching different ways of going off-grid and have in effect come up with a system that is in MHO the "Ideal" plan and it reduces purchase cost and maintainence cost. I have only worked out the plans. I have started working on the prototype, that will only handle one room of a standard home. This is going to be used for testing purposesWhen I get it working I will post the details of the system for everyone to do with what they will. Let me just say that it combines Solar, Wind, and water with with out actual solar or wind and the water is used totally different it is not used for hydro-power generation. It is something totally different just using similar principles. To run my home off-grid I figured it up to be around $60, 000 to $80, 000 Just for the power and water catchment, with the current standard systems.... I have figured out how to reduce that to around $6, 000 to $10, 000 and then the rest of that other money will be more than enough to buy some land and build the home it will be running. And again this is going to be entirely off-grid. That means no light bill, no gas bill, and no water bill. I am excited to be working on this project and look forward to sharing the results with the world. So everyone wish me luck.
Thanks for reading,
Mike Underwood
