it might be interesting to think of the different types of love lives characters can have. example:

Darien and Serena from Sailor Moon- the happy, relatively peacfull, perfect relationship, predestined and everything

Inuyasha and Kagome from Inuyasha- rocky relationship that has to endure a lot of emotional strain

Van and Hitomi from Escaflowne- at the last episode we finally realize we've been in love with eachother this whole time!

Li and Sakura from Cardcaptors- what! no we don't like eachother! what makes you thinkg that!!!!!!

It's not the same type of love as the others. However I think the love shown in Wolf's Rain should be counted. The self-sacrificing love of Kiba, Tsume, Hige, and Toboe for Cheza.
