Does anyone else notice that WoW looks very very similar to Lord of the Rings?

Lich King looks like the Witch-King of Angmar or Sauron.

And in the new Cataclysm their Deathwing the Destroyer looks like the Balrog from the Mines of Moria.

I don’t remember seeing any elves in Star Wars.

Hmm, they must have been hiding.

Hey!

I’m not a dork!
And anyway when I bought the LOTRs books they were under SciFiFantasy.

Maybe I am a dork though.

I’m a Tolkien freak and sometimes I get a little frustrated with the imitations on some of the things in WoW.

Either way it a great game and it is the closest I can get to actually being on Middle-earth.

There are many people that do not realize the parallels between the two and I want people to know LOTR was first!

never played the mmo i heard it was bad. books heard they were good but reading takes away the time i spend jumping around in circles for hours on WoW and the movies were good and the wow movie wont even touch them. i kinda want to watch them now =/

Yeah, Tolkien made a lot of the fantasy good.

Imitation is the highest form of flattery.
WoW isn’t the only game to mimic Tolkien. Hell.. WoW mimic’s EQ in so many ways, and so do many other MMO’s.

It’s a shame LoTR online was a flop. :(

I dare you to do some research before you post again.

Go look at their creation dates.
