Hello,
I have been trying to reach my Financial Councelor for 2 weeks and no luck.
I call my Academic Councelor and no luck either.
I have questions about my classes and my payment History but dont know where else to call.
Anyone know who else I can call or at least answer the damn phone!
Also I am showing this on my account history.

RSPELL2:5160352 REFUND-STD PELL GRANT2 DEBIT MEMO

I know this is not the regular pell grant because the regular pell grant is like this

PELLA:01:15-JAN-2009 REFUND-EXCESS F/A DEBIT MEMO

What does this Pell Grant2 mean? I dont get it.

just call the 1-800 number and speak to any financial aid counselor. after you speak to someone they will note in your account what was discussed. to me it looks like you are getting money from either the SMART grant or something else on the financial aid website.

Is anyone else frustrated with their finance person! Well she finally called me today (after a week) because I had not heard anything about my loans or pell grant being approved. I am going on my 3rd week of classes.

Anyways, she said my app. was turned in on the Oct 16th they received it on the Oct 22nd but they are only now processing up to Oct 5th loans. It is crazy that they are that far behind.

I really dont understand it. When my husband started he found out within like 2 days that everything had went thru.

Is anyone else experiencing this??

Hey Everyone. All I can say is google UOP Sucks and really spend the time reasearching this school. I mean really use your best judgement and you make the decision. Is this really a school that you can be proud of. You guys are not alone, you are just a few of thousands of complaints. I suggest you research the schools history and credability, ask you istructors where they went to school for their degrees, I’ll bet they won’t say UOP. Any how good luck with all your futures

I had issues back in July/August with my original financial aid counselor giving me the run around and not returning calls within the 1-2 business day policy they have in place. I had applied for all of my financial aid- loans and grants- 31 days BEFORE I started the bachelor’s program. I was still in the associate degree program when I applied. They had more than enough time to process all my paperwork and have it certified by July 1st.

My original financial aid counselor kept giving me the run around that there was a snafu in processing it, and they actually ate the cost on my first class because they didn’t process my paperwork on time. My financial aid counselor kept telling me it would be another 30 days to process my paper work. When it was coming up on 120 days, and I know it takes 30-90 days from the time you submit your application for them to approve everything, I got mad and posted a message on Twitter saying that UOP’s two day call back policy sucked and that the school is beginning to tick me off about my financial aid! I also left a voicemail with my enrollment counselor complaining about my financial aid counselor not returning calls.

The next day I received a call from the Asst. Director of Financial Aid who apologized profusely about how long it was taking to process my paperwork. She put a rush on my file and within a week everything was approved. She gave me her phone number, my financial aid counselor’s manager’s phone number, and he even called me the day after she did apologizing and keeping me updated on the status. I heard from my financial aid counselor ONE TIME during this, and she only called to tell me my financial aid had been approved and was being processed. I found that out from her manager an hour before she called, but she was trying to act like she was the first to inform me.

I’m not sure WHY I received special treatment (could be that I’m an alumni and they know alumni support the school), but my financial aid was taken care of and I haven’t had anymore problems since.

OH MY GOSH I AM ALSO HAVING SO MANY PROBLEMS WITH FINANCIAL AID ITS HORRIBLE!!!! I’m going to try to explain as best as possible because I myself am quite confused. I received my financial aid refund in my 8th week of classes which should have been in like the 3rd. Then, I received ANOTHER check. They told me that instead of keeping it on file, they accidentally sent me the money that was meant for my classes. So, I immediately cashed the check and sent them back a check. 68 days later, I am receiving an email stating that the check has been shredded because I forgot to fill in the pay to the order of part. Now, they are pushing me to use a debit or credit card (WHICH I DON’T HAVE AND THEY DON’T LISTEN). I am also being told that my account is being sent to collections because I have been out of class for over 29 days. My financial aid counselor never returns my calls and when she calls me she just keeps telling me the same thing over and over. I also received an email that was meant for her manager apparetnly and I did not like the way she was complaining about me to him. I am not sending another check to them. I am finding out where the original check came from and I will send the money back to them and I will be consulting legal help if I keep getting problems from them. I also have not been allowed to return to class because they do not have the money. My account online also says something completely different than what she is telling me, and I have received a few bills in the mail that say something completely different than what my account online says and what she tells me. I am just disgusted by this school. I would NEVER recommend it to ANYONE!!!
