Hm, hands down Heath Ledger in the Dark Knight but after that comes Luke Goss in both Blade II as Nomak and Hellboy II as Prince Nuada. Then it’s Liev Schreiber in like all his movies (one is Xmen Origins: Wolverin as Sabertooth). Those are three top notch villian playing actors!

I’m going to go against the flow and suggest either Robin Williams as Si in "One Hour Photo" or Robert Mitchum as Harry Powell in "The Night of the Hunter". Both very affecting roles and surprising turns for the actors. I’d say that both are as deep and resistant to scrutiny as Heath Ledger’s Joker.

Well in my honest opinion, I think one of the greatest portrayals would be Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal Lecter in the Hannibal Lecter trilogy. His performance was simply awe inspiring to say the least. A classy, genius, forensic psychiatrist cannibalistic serial killer.

only one has said darth vader!!!! joker i understand is new so its the cool answer, and he was great, but its all about darth vader and it always will be. also i love jigsaw, saw is my favorite movie, but freddy kruger is the classic. third on the list is the great simon phoenix from demolition man.
