I get these feelings everytime I get an idea to write, but often times it takes weeks before the actually idea comes to the front. is there any way to hurry it along?

You should check out the book "The Writer’s Block" by Jason Rekulak. It helps.
Also, reading helps me. Sometimes I’m so inspired by what other people write that I have to start writing immediately.
