I'd always liked dance music, buying the US albums from Captain Hollywood and Technotronic, but it wasn't til 94 that I got into eurodance. My gateway drug, like a lot of people was the Real McCoy...then Corona, 2 Unlimited, Livin' Joy, Culture Beat.

How about you guys?

Oh, God... I don't even know. I think that I might have literally woken up one morning and became Disco.

oh man such classics. the real mccoy remix album was my first dance cd followed by 2 unlimited. in canada they released "dance mix 93, 94, 95".....i started with 94. la bouche with 'sweet dreams'..culture beat of course...the radio played more freestyle music rather than dance...stevie b, lil suzy, joee, etc.

on muchmusic, in toronto, they would show something like soul train and played actual dance music..

canada actually started the whole dance mix compilation series - a collaboration between critique/popular and radikal records. they were the first dance mix compilation to sell well in the USA. i wanted the dance mix 94/95 series soooo bad. i ended up buying most of the series individually, years later. i even had the dance mix infomercial taped. *rolls eyes*

back when i was a young buck...lolz, I started collecting dance compilation cds (along with Freestyle cds...hehe)

Canada: DJ Line, Euro Mix.

Japan: Dance Mania.

US: DMA Eurodance.

........eventually I discovered eurodancehits, eurodance encyclopedia, dance artist info......& a bunch of other eurodance web sites on the net.

I have always liked it, but I just din't know who the hell I was listening to. It wasn't until I lived in Germany that I really started to put names to the music. I fucking love it! What thrills and energy I get from this music! Vive la musique!
