Don't be FOOLED into thinking you are being scouted personally.
EVERY coach/gym in the United States received an email from this University. My coach passed it on to me to see if I was interested. Here's the email:
Dear Coaches:
My name is Trisha O’Connor, and I am the all-girl cheerleading coach at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas. I am writing in hopes that some information can be passed on to some of your cheerleaders that are hoping to cheer in college.
A little background on me first; again, my name is Trisha. I am from Kennedale, Texas where I was a part of the high school cheerleading squad as well as the sr. all-star team out of AACU. I attended Trinity Valley Community College in Athens, Texas where, in 2001, I became a collegiate national champion cheerleader. From there, I went to Stephen F. Austin, where I cheered on the coed squad for four years, winning three collegiate national titles in that time, also competing in the all-girl partner stunt competition at UCA college nationals and placing sixth and taking fourth at NCA. While cheering as a part of SFA, I also cheered with Cheer Athletics open teams, Fierce Katz (open all-girl), Cheer Athletics Cheetahs (coed), Cheer Dynamix Jags (coed), and I am currently on the Pro-X open cheerleading squad (coed). I am also a part of the USA Spirit Team, which travels around the world teaching clinics and competing; this squad has taken me all over Texas, all over Mexico, and Sweden.
I am very interested in being able to talk to any cheerleaders that you have that would be interested in becoming a part of the fast-growing program of SFA Cheer, especially the all-girl program. The SFA All-Girl team is a selective student organization affiliated with the SFA Spirit Program. In its fifth year, this team competes at the highest level and accelerates school spirit on the SFA campus by cheering at SFA athletic events and performing all over East Texas. Most astonishing is they do it all on their dime. SFA All-Girl is self supporting and each girl must contribute or fundraise about $2000 per year to participate. The team participates in numerous fund raisers that help lower some of the burden of cost. SFA All-Girl finished in ninth place at the recent NCA nationals in April in Daytona Beach, also placing fifth and second in years before. The girls battled through numerous injuries and established themselves as one of the rising teams in All-Girl Cheer. The All-Girl cheer squad just recently placed top ten in video competition for NCA.
If anyone is interested, I would be more than happy to arrange a meeting or a time for them to come down and visit, or simply have a conversation with them about becoming a part of the SFA All-Girl cheerleading squad. If you have any questions, or anyone would like to take advantage of this opportunity, please email me at LCLMtrishaCCFC@sbcglobal.net. The web page for the SFA Spirit program through the school, for any more information, is http://www.osa.sfasu.edu/spirit.htm. This page has information on our all-girl, coed as well as pom squad for anyone who in interested. Thank you very much for your time, and I hope to hear from you soon.
Thanks again,
Trisha O’Connor
