So it has been a pretty good year in this group and we have had a lot of really interesting and entertaining discussions. I was thinking that maybe we could reminisce a bit and have a little contest by voting for our favorite threads of 2005. I was thinking that everyone could submit one to three entries and then we could narrow it down to the top 10 threads that we could vote on in a couple of weeks. We will have a first, second and third place once all of the votes are tallied up. Basically what everyone should do if they want to nominate an entry is just post the name of the topic in this thread, maybe with a link if possible, although that is not necessarily a requirement.
One of my early favorites was back in April when John Y. had Uranus cross over his ascendant and he thought that he was going crazy. So, my first submission is Johns thread
Am I turning into a psychopath???

Chris, this was a great idea!!!
I'm nominating 5.
Everyone's Birth Chart
Chris, another great idea! This is the longest sustained thread in this group that dually welcomes new people as well as giving more experienced astrologers to do a little practice, as well as help newcomers along. Its just a great idea and theres no reason for it to die.
The Vertex Axis: A Special Doorway
I like this one because of John's pretty amazing findings with the Vertex always being at the opposite end of the Aries Point on the descendent of the chart of a first kiss, or an important kiss. Its rather pioneering in my estimation.
WHOA!
This one was more personal to me, but John here confirmed his status as VestaMan. He is no Vesta virgin as Nick put it. John gave dates of days of things that would happen, he was absolutely 100% correct. A real validation for astrology.
Just a thought...
Some of the best discussion I've ever seen on this thread, especially when Nick and Jill go at it. Ironically named, 'Just a thought...' when its actually quite a few thoughts. Validates Whole Sign Houses for me at least.
Big Titties!
Well. Yeah.

Why?
A wonderful thread posted by Sarah asking why everyone started getting into astrology
Oh yeah! That was an interesting thread.

I liked Just a Thought too. Some good talk about planets making a phasis!
There's 37 pages of threads so I'm having a bit of trouble limiting myself to my favorites--I generally liked the one's where there was alot of knowledge transmitted--good educative discussions. I liked it when interesting terms were talked about--like fixed stars, asteroids, phasis, peregrination, combustion, antiscia, the essential dignities, void of course moon, solar arcs, secondary progressions, profections, oriental planets, midpoints, davisons, harmoincs, etc.. These more or less, intermediate and advanced, terms don't seem to make firm ground here like they do on other forums. I was really enjoying a discussion on TP's (tertiary progressions) last week on the JLA and I thought to myself "it's too bad I doubt this would spark on the Horoscopic group".
I really would have liked to see that The Fixed Stars thread take off a bit more but it doesn't seem like too many people know anything about the oldest approach to astrology here--that or they're just not interested?

I'll tell you what, I'm very new here but I'm thoroughly enjoying it and appreciate people hilighting their favourite threads. I've tried to go through old posts but there's just too much! This is the best way for me to go through old posts I've missed without spending hours. ;-)
You know, it may not be such a bad idea to archive some of the best threads in case they eventually get lost on the noice of myspace......plus, you never know if they wind up deleting topics that are old. Just a thought.

I'm working on looking through them. How about any of the _____ retrograde posts where people started writing backwards, or any posts that degenerated into four or so folks speaking only in French?
Seriously though, I'll try to have a few submissions by the end of the weekend.
What a year we've had! I'm getting weepy here....

How am I suppose to decide? I've learned so much!! Everyone's Birth Chart will probably be the Best Thread -EVER-! 888 posts over there so far.. There were a lot of fun threads too-- Steam Team Vs. "The Gardeners" or whatever we decided they were.. :D
