...Tell us a little about yourself.
I've been a CPO since January 1996. Like most folks in the trade, I've had some great experiences and some less than stellar ones. Overall, it's been a pretty decent career for me. Recently, I've given much thought what direction my career should be heading. I'll be making some rather large career decisions before the year is out. Stay tuned.

Brothers/sisters I've been a C/O for the NJDOC since 1997. Cant say I'm in the "jungle" like Pelican or Q( but a convict is a convicts is a convict). Love my job, hate the suits & pencil pushers & def got no love for the cons!

Hi all I am new to the group.
I am been a CO at our local sheriff's office for almost a year. I deal with the inmates that are either still drunk or still drugged out of their minds. I love my job can't stand some of the ppl and definately can't stand most of the inmates.lol
My hubby has been a CO at the state maximum security prison here for a year and a half. He loves it. He is also a member of the TN National guard and has been for 20 years.

Welcome to the group, guys.
Cathy, I have a family member who split a 30 year correctional career between county and state and says county was way more difficult!

HI ALL,
I'm a Detention Officer for the county jail here in Conway, Arkansas. I love my job. I work directly with the inmates:feeding, taking to court, handling a fight or 2, administering meds, etc. I guess I'm the baby of the group bc I've only been working for 9 months, but I have made Corporal. My co-workers are awesome (well, at least most of them are - you know how that goes), we have fun off the job together and I know I can trust them to have my back when it comes down to it. We are opening a brand new jail on Monday and we've been working our butts off trying to get it all set up and ready for our "guests". I can't wait to exchange stories and experiences with you all.

Brian- 24 years old, been in Corrections for 5 years between county and state, love my shift, love the people i work with like family( got a few that are some cousins i can't stand) hate the convicts. Part of the people i work with are my family, i've got my mother, my older sister, and my little brother all working with me at the same prison. Can't stand the new warden, she's a hug-a-thug, but she'll be gone soon so either way i fly under the radar most of the time, stay in the middle of the storm the rest.
