I just wanted to get a general consensus on when everyone here started their studies, and if there were any major transits going on in their natal chart that coincided with the inauguration of their studies. Often people point to a Uranus transit to either their Sun or Ascendant, or possibly Mercury, but I'm curious if it is the same with this group. If you are new to this study, then I would like know if there is anything going on in your chart right now that might suggest that you are begining something important to your life. If you dont know about transits yet, then just post your chart in the other thread, and then we can all take a look at it.

For me personally, my studies began with the transit of Uranus over my ascendant, and Pluto conjunct my Uranus. There were lots of other things going on in my chart at the time, but those seem to have been the big two. How about you guys?

i started getting interested a few months ago but have only gotten serious in the past month. i don't know much about transits, or too much in general, but as for life changes i've had quite a few recently. i graduated from college in december, and have decided to go on a trip to italy mid may, and directly after that (june 15th or so)i'm moving to seattle for my band. i'm reuniting with my best friend/guitarist who's been there for a year already and it's been killing me. plus i'm moving out of the town of lived in my entire life, so yea, big things.

I can't even think straight... Would that be somewhat similar to a progressive chart?

Nah, like the transits would be where the planets were in the sky at the time that you started studying. Like if you were to do a birthchart for when you started studying, you would see where those planets were in relation to the ones in your birth chart.

I've always been interested in it. My aunt is a astrologer, and it's so interesting.. she gave me a book and some tarot cards to learn from, but i don't understand it to well. I would ask her but she lives in Fl. and I live in Jersey, so the phone bil wouldn't be a pretty picture..

When I was eight years old in school we had a project to do on the planets. All of us had to pick a planet we wanted to do a report on, and for some reason the planet Uranus intrigued me. Spending hours upon hours of research on Uranus, I unintentionally came across the symbol for Uranus. It caught my eye, and I wanted to investigate more about it. Something about the symbol fascinated me because it wasn’t in the science book. Ironicly I got hooked on astrology by the encyclopedia. At that age too I loved Esoteric stuff and religious shit :P. I loved watching Egyptian shows, cause I loved the thrill of being scared, and you know astrology uses names from roman myth, it was only natual. That is when my interest in astrology started.

Even though that story had a Uranus bent to it, the chart really had no apsects to Uranus. Uranus was conjuct to Neptune at the time opposed to my Mercury. Jupiter on the other hand, was conjuct to my scorpio south node. Natally, I got a Jupiter Aquarius conjuct to the part of astrology though. The north node also was conjuct to my south node and saturn at the time. Saturn formed 2 kites in pisces with Sun Pluto Moon Neptune. Seemed to have an extremely saturn/south node bent to it though. I don't really see myself as the Uranian kind of astrologer, more of the saturn type...........

I wonder if a planet was at 2 Taurus at the time, would make a grand sextile in the chart.

Yeah, a planet at 2 Taurus totally would have completed and aspected all of the planets in that pattern in your chart. That must be a pretty sensitive degree for you will all of those planets so close to there.

I started my interest in astrology since I was about 9 or 10 yrs old, but I did not get into the charts, just basically what planets were there at the time of birth. I did not delve much into the degrees either or the positions they occupied. I was interested though, in the unique mixture of personality it gives a person...

I started to have an interest in astrology around June of last year, which coincided with the beginning of a uranus square to my natal saturn (sag 1), and also pluto trine my natal pluto (sco 11) ...that goes for quite a few of us.

Yeah, that seems to be the one that got quite a few people of our generation into astrology over the past couple of years. Its kind of strange.

Has anyone else noticed that the vast majority of kids who actully get into astrology who are between like 15 and 25 right now also tend to have this preponderance of Scorpio placements?

I have noticed that a lot of us have big scorpio influences, but I suppose that's because we're drawn to this stuff. I have always been interested in people's hidden motivations and what is really going on beneath the surface and see astrology as a helpful tool for gaining further insight.

I mean, maybe someone should ask the question, WHY are we all interested in astrology? What do you like about it?

Plus scorpios are fanatical about getting to the truth of things and can maintain interest, which is why we are the ones who keep up with posts and further discussion? Just a thought, my immeadiate reaction.
